Hi! I'm Jess and I am working with Ed to help run Forest School sessions for the children in The Den.

I've recently completed my Level 3 Childcare Qualification and whilst studying, I completed a six month placement at Free Rangers. I fell in love with the environment and I knew that Free Rangers was where I wanted to work when I qualified.

Previously, I've studied Photography and Art at University level and throughout the mid term breaks, I worked with children with a variety of disabilities. When they started to run Forest School sessions for these children, I wanted to find out more, I became highly involved with the sessions as the children enjoyed making fires, dens, hammocks, face painting, toasting marshmallows and working out how to use the Kelly kettle to make hot drinks. I grew passionate about outdoor education for children. I believe that children need a place to explore and take risks, all within a safe but challenging environment.

I'm looking forward to sharing my creative side with the children and I feel privileged to have joined the Free Rangers team!

Favourite tree: Pine for the Pine cones!

Favourite forest animal: Reindeer!

Favourite season: Autumn but I love any season!
