Hi, I’m Patti, and I’m currently working with the lovely Lisa in the Nest on Mondays and Fridays!
Before this I was Bank staff, standing in when Free Rangers needed someone to cover holiday absence, illness etc. I applied to do this after reading the Free Rangers website and thinking, WOW! What an amazing place! I’d love to work there.’
I enjoy working with all the ages at the Nursery, each room is special and unique, like the children themselves. I love the outdoor ethos and environment which just gets more amazing and exciting all the time! The staff are wonderful, the care for the children is outstanding and the children themselves are such fun to be with!
I am a qualified, experienced Primary School teacher, specialising in early years development, especially the important connection between language and thought. The last years of my teaching career were supporting children with learning difficulties in Mainstream schools, then working as a class teacher in Ravenswood Special School, Nailsea. I took the children out on trips every half term in the minibus to give them a wider experience of life.
One year I led the 18 months-4years children’s creative activities programme for several hundred children at a Bible Week, parents told me their children were excited to come to ‘their meeting’.
I’ve written a series of activity books which were used in Primary schools in the Rhonda Valleys as part of the Sporting Marvels project.
I co-lead a team, (Restoration Blueprint: reviving lives restoring destiny) with my husband, who from 2008 work together to connect people, to bring out the gold in them, encouraging their dreams and goals through inspiration, teaching and prayer. Standing with people in life’s tough times, putting them in touch with others who can help. Teaching in conferences and small groups in the UK, Ireland and Malawi, and recently on skype to meetings in Pakistan!
Due to the voluntary work we do, I’m unable to commit to a full time regular job. I’m very grateful to Free Rangers for giving me the opportunity to do something I also enjoy – and get paid for – when I can!
