EARLY YEARS PRACTITIONER IN THE DEN
Hello, my name is Tammy.
In 2013 I enrolled at Norton Radstock College now known as Bath College, Somer Valley Campus to study Childcare and Education Level 2. Within a few months I realised this was a career that I would love. In 2014, I studied Level 3 and completed placements gaining experience within various settings across a wide variety of age ranges, from babies to reception class.
I really enjoy seeing children develop in all areas of learning, whether it be physical, emotional and social or expressive arts and designs. All areas of learning are interlinked during activities, this has many benefits towards the children and is known as holistic development.
When I was younger, I used to ride horses on the farm. Years later I witnessed the creation of the nursery whilst walking along the cycle track with my family. Every time that I walked past, I could hear and see the children having a great time, exploring and taking risks. From that moment I knew that Free Rangers was the nursery for me and that I would love to work there when I was qualified. I’m looking forward to my future with Free Rangers.
I started Free Rangers in April 2017, making it over a year now. I started in the Hive, covering lunch shifts as well as covering across the other rooms too. In September I moved to the Den full time and have made some great bonds with the children, as well as being able to experience working alongside the SEND support worker.
